Origin

Sumra honey comes from the nectar of the sumr tree, a hardy, thorned tree that thrives in Yemen's dry interior. Its blossom gives a lighter, golden honey — brighter in colour and softer in character than sidr, but unmistakably full-bodied.

Like everything we offer, it is imported from Yemen and bottled in small batches, raw and unfiltered, sealed in glass exactly as it left the hive.

Quality

Sumra is graded High Grade — a step below our top Grade A sidr, and priced accordingly. It is the honey we recommend for daily use: smooth, versatile and genuinely Yemeni.

Single-source and unprocessed: no blending, nothing added. Its flavour stays where nature put it.

Context

Sumr honey has traditionally been the accessible honey of the region — the jar families keep at hand for everyday tables and warm drinks, while rarer grades were saved for guests.

Published research on sumr honey specifically is limited. We keep our descriptions to taste, origin and handling, and share studies as general context only.

Shared as general context and heritage. Honey is a food, and we make no medical claims.

Care

Serving

  • Perfect for everyday: stirred into tea or yoghurt, spread on bread, or straight from the spoon.
  • Its lighter body makes it the easiest of our honeys to use in the kitchen.

Storage

  • Store sealed at room temperature, out of direct sunlight.
  • If it crystallises — a natural process — warm the jar gently in water.

Check first

  • Infants under 1 year old — honey is not suitable for them.
  • If you live with diabetes, check with your doctor first.
  • If you have a bee-product or pollen allergy, check with your doctor first.

FAQ

How is Sumra different from Duaani Sidr?

Colour, character and grade. Sumra is bright golden, smooth and easier-going — our everyday honey. Duaani sidr is deep amber, intense and aromatic — our signature, rarest harvest.

Is it raw and unfiltered?

Yes — every honey we sell is raw and unfiltered, sealed in glass without heat treatment or blending.

Which size should I start with?

The 250 g jar is a good start — enough to live with the honey for a few weeks before committing to more.

How do I order?

Choose a size and press Order on WhatsApp. A message opens with the honey and size filled in, and we confirm your order, payment and delivery with you directly.

Know what is in the jar

Every batch is documented. Batch details and test documents are available on request, so you can see where your honey came from before you buy.
